HSE issues Tower Crane High Tensile Bolt Connections - Technical Alert

The HSE has issued a technical alert to remind those who own, operate and hire tower cranes that they should ensure that high tensile bolt connections are correctly installed and pre-loaded (tensioned). Those responsible for installation, thorough examination, inspection, maintenance and operation of tower cranes should adhere to this technical alert issued on the 25th January 2007.

HSE issues Tower Crane Safety Alert

Guidance on the use of cranes has been available to the industry for some time, and this has been re-enforced by a safety alert issued by HSE on 17 October 2006.

Safety Check Engineering was elected as an Associate Member of the Safety Assessment Federation (SAFed) on the 31st March 2005.

Safety Check Engineering becomes a Member of INITA

Safety Check Engineering was elected as a Member of the Independent National Inspection & Testing Association (INITA) on the 24th September 2005.

The Work at Height Regulations 2005

On the 6th April 2005 the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) launched a brief guide to the Work at Height Regulations. The guide outlines what people must do to comply with the Regulations.
